Part:BBa_K1475007
GFP controlled by lacI and plac
This composite part has GFP controlled by a lacI, p(lacI) expression system.
Please note that this part contains the lacI repressor without the LVA rapid degradation tag. The lacI+LVA bacis part can be found here: Part:BBa_C0012.
Usage and Biology
This part can be used to test the expression from the lacI, p(lacI) system.
The operation of lacI repressor is inhibited by allolactose and [http://openwetware.org/wiki/IPTG IPTG (Isopropylthiogalactoside)]. IPTG is preferred because it cannot be degraded by Escherichia coli and therefore remains at a constant concentration.
